CHAKRAS

Chakras refer to various energy centers in your body that correspond to specific nerve bundles and internal organs. The seven major chakras run from the base of your spine to the top of your head. If these energy centers get blocked, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra.

The Root Chakra (Muladhara)

Located at the very “root” of your bottom, the bottom of the spine, the root chakra is foundational. An open and balanced root chakra gives you feelings of security and peace, and is essential for pursuing major life goals. When the root chakra is in harmony, we are profoundly connected to nature, feel grounded, and are able to move with the ebb and flow of life.

Your Root Chakra may become blocked if something threatens your basic survival (food, shelter, or money).

The Sacral Chakra (Svadhishthana)

The Sacral Chakra affects your creativity, sexuality, and pleasure in all its forms. This chakra may become misaligned or blocked if you are in an unsatisfying relationship or struggling to have confidence in your own abilities.

Physical Location: In the middle of the abdomen, about two inches below the belly button
